Udanta Singh: His career in review
Udanta Singh is an Indian professional footballer who plays for Bengaluru FC and the Indian national team. He primarily plays on the right flank as a winger. He hails from the state of Manipur. Udanta began his youth career at the reputed Tata Football Academy. At the Tata Football Academy, Udanta shined during the Darjeeling Gold Cup, Saras Gold Cup, and the I-League U19 in 2014. At the 2011 National Games of India, he appeared for Jharkhand.
In July 2014, Bengaluru FC, the reigning champions of I-League, signed Udanta Singh. It was his first professional contract. His debut for Bengaluru FC came against Mohammedan SC in a Durand Cup match in October 2014. When the 2014-15 I-League ended, Udanta signed a contract extension. He was also sent to English League 2 club Oxford United by Bengaluru FC on a training stint. Udanta played for two more seasons in the I-League with Bengaluru FC. Since Bengaluru FC joined the Indian Super League (ISL) from the 2017-18 season, Udanta Singh has scored 7 goals and provided 6 assists in 58 games in ISL. He has also played in the AFC Cup and Super Cup for the club. Udanta has been capped by the Indian national team 27 times since making his debut in 2016.
